Phound Wave email templates can be used in campaign messages as well as one-time Blasts. The campaign controls determine timing; the email template supplies the design, subject, and personalized content.
This desktop/browser example uses Drip, where the email envelope was shown in the feature walkthrough. Wave also offers Anniversary, Countdown, Calendar, and Repeating campaign types. Their timing differs, so do not reuse a Drip delay as another type's schedule.
Before You Begin
- Choose a campaign type and confirm the correct persona.
- Keep the campaign Off while preparing it.
- Prepare a template and eligible contacts with saved Email addresses and every personalized field it uses.
- Confirm the account's email sending identity, access, reply handling, and unsubscribe process before activation. Ask Phound Support if any of these are unclear.
Add Email to a Drip Message
- Open the disabled Drip campaign.
- Select the plus button beside Messages.
- In New Drip Message, enter an internal Name.
- Select the envelope beneath Message, with the Email templates tooltip.
- Open Browse library or My templates, then select the design you want.
- Review the email and replace bracketed instructions. For layout, images, subject, or additional personalized fields, use the template editor.
- Review Send after a delay, set Day to the intended delay, and choose Send at.
- Review the message and timing, then select Create to add it to the campaign. Keep the campaign Off during the remaining checks.
For a Drip campaign, each contact's timing starts when they join. Review each message's own delay instead of assuming it follows the previous message's delay. See Build a Drip Campaign.
Use Separate Messages for Text and Email
One message contains one channel. Selecting an email template replaces text already in that message. To include text and email in a sequence, create separate campaign messages with their own content and timing.
For example, you might use a Welcome email and a later text check-in. This is a workflow idea, not a preconfigured or tested recipe. Review the recipient's eligibility and contact data for each channel separately.
Review the Audience and Schedule
Use the campaign's Contacts controls to select Contacts or Collections. Review the audience count and Dynamic collection before attaching the audience. An eligible email recipient needs an Email value in their contact record; a phone number alone is not an email destination.
Broadcast hours apply to campaign emails. A message's time does not override the allowed sending window. See Broadcast Hours and Scheduling.
Before enabling the campaign, confirm:
- the correct campaign, persona, and displayed sender are selected
- each message contains the intended email or text, not an accidental replacement
- subject lines, bracketed wording, links, and personalized data have been reviewed
- every required message is saved with the intended delay and time
- selected contacts have the destination and data required for their channel
- the reply and unsubscribe process is understood for email, not inferred from SMS
Testing and Activation
Use only a test audience you own or are authorized to use. Keep real customers out of the first test. Confirm with Phound Support how email testing works in your account before using Fast Forward; the SMS Fast Forward procedure does not establish email behavior.
Likewise, do not assume an email reply triggers Remove contact when they reply, or that emailing STOP unsubscribes someone. The existing Replies, STOP, and Contact Removal instructions cover the verified text-message workflow.
Enable the campaign only after its content, audience, timing, access, and channel-specific behavior are ready. See Test, Enable, and Pause a Campaign for the shared pause/review safety checklist.
