Create and Schedule a Blast

Create a one-time Wave message, choose its audience, and schedule its delivery.

A Blast is one message scheduled for selected contacts or collections.

You can compose a text message or select an email design. For the complete email workflow, see Send Email Blasts in Phound Wave.

Before You Begin

Prepare:

  • the intended sender, with carrier approval when sending business SMS
  • an eligible audience
  • the final message copy
  • the intended day and time

Review Broadcast Hours and Scheduling before choosing the send time.

Create the Blast

  1. Open Blasts.
  2. Select New Blast.
  3. Choose the Sender Number.
  4. Enter an internal Name for the Blast.
  5. For text, write the message. The text composer shows the current character count and a maximum of 1,024 characters. For email, select the Email templates envelope and choose a design.
  6. Review the content for your chosen channel. Text composer items and character limits should not be treated as email editor features or limits.
  7. Select Add Contacts.
  8. Choose a collection or individual contacts.
  9. Decide whether Dynamic collection should follow future membership changes.
  10. Select the Day and Time.
  11. Review the outside-working-hours warning if it appears.
  12. Select Create only when the audience, content, sender, and schedule are correct.

Choosing email replaces text already in that message. The text counter disappears and the other composer buttons become unavailable. Use separate Blasts to send both text and email. Edit email wording in the message; use the template editor for layout, images, subject, and additional personalized fields.

For email, verify each recipient's saved Email address. Confirm account email access, sending identity, reply handling, and unsubscribe process before scheduling a live audience.

Review Blast Status

The Blasts screen separates messages into:

  • Outbox
  • In Progress
  • Completed
  • Draft

Use these views to confirm whether the Blast is still waiting, currently processing, completed, or unfinished.

Final Check

Before creating the Blast, confirm:

  • the sender is correct
  • the recipient count is expected
  • names and other fields are available for every selected contact
  • links and media open correctly
  • the scheduled time fits your broadcast hours
  • the message is appropriate for the audience's consent

After scheduling, open Wave Timeline to review the upcoming send.
